TEENY TINY MIXED MEDIA JOURNAL

It's been a while since I've been to this blog.  I've been teaching a Nature Sketching Class in our local park and dabbling in a few art projects here and there, but also doing far too much procrastination this summer.  I've had a small journal lying around for some time, but haven't been able to decide quite what to put in it.  At the same time the idea of working in Mixed Media has has been with me for a while.  So, I took several wonderful books out of the library on the subject and was inspired to put the two things together and give it a try on a miniature level.

I'm beginning my work by using mixed media materials in a 3.5" X 5" 100 lb. Strathmore Bristol Journal.  I'll list the materials I used on each page in the order in which I used them as I go along.  (Note: I use clear Acrylic Gel Medium as my glue and often between layers of the various media in each page.)  For these first two pages, however, I've used watercolors and a black Micron pen to write something about my mental state when I began the journal and to do a self-portrait of an embarrassed me.  Why am I embarrassed?  Because I've been so un-creative this summer!

The photos below are actually larger than the journal pages themselves.  Here goes.....
